Around Allahabad Tour :

Bhita An archaeological site, is situated on the banks of the Yamuna River. The site has the remains of an ancient city dating all the way back to 300 BC. A museum showing the various artifacts discovered during the excavation of the site is also located here.

Jhusi

(Pratisthanpuri), with its many ashrams and temples, offer a serene spot for the peace of mind to the visitor. Located barely 9 km from Allahabad, it can be reached convieniently by taxis, buses, boats, etc.

Kara

Situated around 70 km from Allahabad on the banks of the Ganges, Kara is home to the famous Temple of Shitala Devi. A provincial capital of the Mughals, Kara is dotted with ruin for up to 3.5 km along the river. Apart from the temple, the Jama Masjid, Hanuman Temple, the Samadhi of Sant Maluk Das Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Kshetrapal Bhairav Temple, Shivala Maharishi Ashram and Dargah of Khwaja Karak are some of the main attractions of Kara.

Kaushambi

(62 km from Allahabad) is traditionally associated with the Mahabharata. Lord Buddha visited Kaushambi twice to deliver discourses making it one of the greatest Buddhist centre. Ruins of a monastery and an ancient fort bear witness to the the distant past of the place.

Shringverpur

A historical site located around 40 km from Allahabad, was once the capital of the kingdom of Nishadraj (King of Boatmen). Legend has it that Lord Rama, hero the epic the Ramayana, stayed here overnight on his way to the forest. Before Rama was steered across the Ganga, his feet were washed by Nishadraj.
